Force Behind the Lift: Christina Lagaly
“I love it when a plan comes together.” That was a character’s famed tag line in a very popular television show. The premise was a very elaborate plan with many moving parts, would somehow always fall into place, and the good guys would win. The show was popular because it appealed to so many. It incorporated gun fights, high speed car chases, airplane and helicopter maneuvers, but what resonated with a certain Rotary employee was the planning aspect.
Christina Lagaly loved the show for one reason, it played to her strong suit; her meticulous nature. Christina is the Master Scheduler for Rotary and is very well suited for the job. Today we learn a little more about the person who is responsible for the delicate symphony that is the planning, production, and distribution of Rotary Lifts.
Q: How long have you been with Rotary Lift?
Christina: I have been with Rotary lift for 15 months.
Q: What do you enjoy about your job?
Christina: I have what some would consider – “an extreme planner personality” – (not all people appreciate this part of my personality). I like to always have a plan, and then a backup plan in case the original plan falls through or needs changed, and then a backup plan for the backup plan and so on and so forth…I think you get my point. So as the Master Scheduler, I get to utilize my “extreme planner” personality to its full potential!
What is your work background in?
Christina: I started out in the Customer Service field and migrated to Scheduling about 8 years ago.
What is one of the biggest challenges to your job?
Christina: The biggest challenge in my job is “juggling”. I have to work collaboratively with credit, logistics, customer service and manufacturing in order to create a master production schedule that is within our production facility capacity/production smoothing/supply availability, all the while keeping our customers’ needs and requests the top priority.
During your work career or personal life, what you are most proud of?
Christina: I am most proud of going back to college while working full time and raising 3 kids. Although I have to give props to my husband; I couldn’t have done it without his help and support. He had to pick up my slack at home for a couple years in order for me to be able to complete my degree.
What is a fun fact about you that people may not know?
Christina: Not sure that this is considered a “fun” fact, but people seem to find it interesting and/or surprising that my husband and I have been together since 7th grade!
What do you enjoy doing during your time away from work?
Christina: I enjoy hanging out with family and friends. Boating/cookouts/kids’ sporting events/vacations /bonfires
Are you a music person or a sports person?
Christina: Probably both – I love music but I spend much more time watching sports. I am a Cincinnati fan all the way – Bengals and Reds. Most of all I like watching my kids in their activities. Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Track, Cheer and Gymnastics.
If you purchased a Rotary lift product, what would it be? Why?
Christina: If I purchased a Rotary lift, it would probably be the new RLP77 scissor lift. This lift works well in smaller spaces and it is reliable and economical. It has a low profile design to drive over the lift easily.
