One morning in 1924, Peter Lunati was working in the grease pit at Liversiege Service Station in Memphis, Tennessee when a friend stopped in and shouted to him, “Well Pete, what do you know?” Immediately, he recalled his visit to the barbershop that morning. “I know one thing,” Lunati said. “I’ve crawled down in this hole for the last time. I’ve got an idea.” Inspired by the simple vertical movement of a barber’s chair, the concept of the world’s first vehicle lift was conceived. From what would come to be known as “the haircut that launched an industry”’ Rotary Solutions’ legacy of success began.
Our Legacy
Lunati designed, built and patented the first hydraulic automotive lift, which was installed at Liversiege Service Station in 1925. Like many inventors, Lunati developed a better way to do something because he worked in the very environment he sought to improve. That spirit of innovation continues to guide Rotary Solutions’ evolution as an industry leader today, and building on our strong foundation, we’ll be ready to serve the shop far into the future.
Our Mission
To make work easier for automotive service shop personnel with reliable, practical products. We accomplish this by developing superior equipment with the support of the largest service network in the country. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment at automotive shops that improves accessibility and productivity.
Our Vision And Values
We strive to build on our legacy of innovative success by continuing to develop products that serve the needs of automotive service shops now and in the future. Rotary Solutions values honesty, ingenuity, customer commitment and continuous improvement. Every Rotary Solutions employee, channel partner and supplier is accountable to meet or exceed these expectations to improve processes and service.
ISO 9001 Certified
ISO9001 is the highest international benchmark of quality. This exclusive certification means that Rotary’s Quality Management System is among the best in the world. Customer know the firm has undergone rigorous quality testing and will continue to meet these high standards on an ongoing basis. It takes a tremendous commitment of resources and effort to meet the requirements, but ISO9001 certification puts a company on equal footing with some of the most respected and quality-driven firms in the world.
Explore ProductsALI Certified
Rotary is a founding member of the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI), wich was formed in 1945 to ensure that vehicle lifts were being constructed to adequate safety standards. In 1993, the ALI and its members began a rigorous testing and certification program for lifts. The program uses an independent third-party testing laboratory called ETL, which ensures compliance with national standards and periodically inspects the factory where the lifts are made. If the lift passes the tests and the factory meets the standards, then the lift may carry the gold “ALI Certified/ETL Listed Mark” as many of our lifts do.
Explore Auto LiftsSustainability
Rotary Solutions has pursued a number of initiatives to improve environmental impact. We’re proud that Rotary brand lifts were chosen for many of the very first LEED-Certified auto dealerships in the nation. From recycled polymer housings to lifts that significantly reduce oil usage, from smaller footprint lifts to steel components designed to be recycled, we strive to use planet-sensitive materials and practices. Just one example: Rotary’s MOD Series in-ground lifts feature an environmentally sound modular containment unit featuring our EnviroGuard™ coating.
