Keep it Running: Maintaining Your Meridian™ System
Once you decide to invest in Chief’s Meridian™ Live Mapping™ System, you’ll want to do everything you can to make it run smoothly. That way, it can help you blueprint those repairs and complete them accurately. Here’s how to keep it in tip-top shape.
Paint Precautions.
The Galileo™ scanner and targets need to communicate with each other effectively to get the job done. In order to do that, you’ll need to protect them from some common elements in the collision repair landscape. Make sure to keep them well away from areas being undercoated, primed or painted so the laser and reflective targets don’t become obstructed.
It’s also important to keep these components protected from the heat of torches. Put the targets and scanner in the included workstation away from paint or excessive heat when not in use, to protect your investment.
Cleaning Tips.
No matter how clean your shop is, the body scanner, targets and computer will all need a wipe-down now and then. Be sure to:
- Use a lint-free, low-abrasion cloth
- Stick with ammonia-based glass cleaner
- Avoid solvents or alcohol-based cleaners
Don’t forget to wipe down the keyboard cover with a soft cloth, as well.
Air Filters.
The air filters on the workstation will need to be cleaned from time to time to allow for adequate airflow to the components inside. To do that:
- Disconnect the workstation power source
- Remove air filters
- Wash them in warm water with mild detergent
- Shake off excess water
- Let them air dry
- Reinstall in the workstation
All in all, the Meridian system is easy to use and to maintain. Keep it in good condition, and it will help you accurately measure for years to come.
