Ford’s Manufacturing System Lets it Recycle a Lot of Aluminum
Automotive World reports that, using the closed-loop system at the manufacturer’s Dearborn Truck Plant, Ford is able to recycle up to 20 million pounds of stamping scrap metal every month. That’s enough for 30,000 F-150 bodies.
Aluminum Supplier Novelis Opens New Finishing Line
Novelis, which provides aluminum for a variety of car manufacturers, recently announced that it will be investing $120 million to increase its aluminum-producing capabilities. The line will be added to the company’s existing factory in New York. The move points to the sustained growth of aluminum, with Novelis predicting continued increases in the market.
