See You at the TMC Transportation Technology Exhibition!
The Technology and Maintenance Council annual meeting and exhibition is coming up fast! Join us February 29-March 3 at Nashville’s Music City Center. Whether you’re a TMC member or just want to keep up with the latest equipment and technology in the industry, the TMC annual meeting is the place to be. Part standards-setting effort, part education, part networking event, there’s plenty to gain from attending. Here’s what you can expect.
Meetings Worth Joining
The organizational meeting portion of the event begins on Sunday, February 28, with everything from Strategic Planning Committee meetings to an evening First Timer Welcome Reception. The exhibition officially opens Monday evening at 6:30 with a reception, and the rest of Monday is dedicated to Task Force meetings where volunteers help establish industry standards, tackling everything from solar power for commercial vehicles to industry definitions related to fleet maintenance.
Exhibit Hall
After opening Monday evening, the exhibition runs through Wednesday morning. It’s a great opportunity to see the latest equipment options in the industry. We’ll be there in booth #2932. Stop by to take an in-person look at the wireless, 18,000 lb. capacity Mach Series mobile column lifts. These lifts are a must-see – they make setup (and repairs) fast and easy.
Getting your hands on the lifts and operating them is the best way to learn about their mobility, versatility and value. Our mobile lifts increase productivity through enhanced engineering and offer a higher level of safety through unequaled quality. You can also arrange a no-obligation fleet demonstration at your location via our extensive Rotary distributor network.
In addition to the lifts, you’ll get to see the MW-500 mobile wheel lift and a heavy-duty jack stand in action. The mobile wheel lift can position tires and wheels up to 500 lbs. After being raised on the mobile column, vehicles can be lowered onto the jack stand, so the columns can be used elsewhere, adding to their versatility and utility in the shop. Be sure to stop by and take a look.
Education Sessions to Boost Your Know-How
The educational sessions are offered throughout the day Tuesday and Wednesday and wrap up Thursday morning. A couple we’re looking forward to include:
C-Level Educational Track Sessions: Specifically geared toward the C-level, this day-long series includes sessions like, Differentiating Your Trucking Company in a Competitive Marketplace and The Pros and Cons of Cloud Computing: Which Functions Should be Moved to the Cloud.
When: Monday, February 29, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Technical Session #1: Oh No! We’re Out of Technicians! The trucking industry talks a lot about driver shortages, but the tech shortage is less discussed. TMC is drawing attention to the matter and shedding light on solutions. You’ll see what’s working at other companies and hear ideas from panelists who have found ways to recruit from nontraditional sources.
When: Tuesday, March 1, 8:45-10:15 a.m.
During that Tuesday-Thursday time period, you’ll also find a variety of “Study Groups,” which are ongoing committees that identify and explore equipment and maintenance challenges in the industry. This year’s study groups cover topics like The Design of a Zero-Waste Maintenance Shop and Everything You Wanted to Know about Corrosion but were Afraid to Ask.
Online registration for the show is still open – visit the ATA site to register or learn more about the exhibition and education sessions. We hope to see you there!
