Sneak Peek: Heavy Duty Collision Repair
The best trained techs provide the best repairs. And when you work in an industry that goes through frequent transitions and adjustments, that training needs to be ongoing. Chief University is dedicated to providing up-to-date technician training, on the latest industry advancements, with a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on learning.
A common site on any roadway is semis and tractor trailers. With nearly 1.5 trillion dollars spent on logistics and transport in 2016, it’s safe to assume there is a large number of heavy duty trucks on the road, and they need repair. Is your shop ready for heavy duty repairs? Do you have the equipment and do your techs have the correct training?
Outfitting your shop to accommodate Heavy Duty Repairs will help you stand out and be among an elite group. However, having the best equipment will mean very little if your technicians are not up to the challenge. Ensuring they have the knowledge to perform these repairs will put your shop on the map, and may bring in a whole new set of problems, like how will you invest all the extra revenue.
Chief introduces the first Heavy Duty Truck Collision Repair Course available to the industry. This course is first to detail structural repair principles and techniques for the Heavy Duty Market. An understanding of construction methods, steel properties, OEM procedures, and general repair principles are all covered in this comprehensive course. Proper use of measuring and pulling equipment are demonstrated and discussed. With the use of our Heavy Duty Damage Simulator, Chief can duplicate structural and body damage while monitoring their effects on the structure as this relates to how repairs can be blueprinted prior to beginning the repair process. This course is designed for technicians, estimators, and appraisers with valuable repair and analysis information. This is a two-day course available on a limited basis.
Chief University training is certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for compliance with the Continuing Automotive Service Education (CASE) Standards. Chief University class offerings are updated frequently. For the most up-to-date schedule, course descriptions and to register, visit www.vsgdover.com/training/ViewAvailableClasses.aspx?PL=2.
