Thanking the Veterans who Make Chief Proud
There are a lot of men and women at Chief Automotive who go above and beyond to make our customers happy and our products the very best. This Veterans Day, we’re especially grateful to those who have served in our armed forces. There are 37 veterans who bring their talents, drive and commitment to our team. As we thank them all for their service, we invite you to get to know one of our veterans a little bit better.
Meet John Bilton.
What branch did you serve, and for how long?
I served as a Dental Tech in the Navy from 1985 to 1989.
What motivated you to join the military?
I joined the Navy, along with many of my classmates at the same time, as a way to pay for my schooling. I always wanted to travel as I had never really been too far from Madison at that age.
How does your experience in the military help your work at VSG today?
The Navy taught me better self-discipline and how to communicate with my co-workers. It helped me to pay better attention to detail as well.
Tell us a bit about your family and what you like to do outside of work.
I’ve been married to my wife Kelley for 3 years. We have two children, Brandon and Britany, and two grandsons Max and Eli. We enjoy traveling whenever possible, wine trails, and spending time with our kids and friends. I also really enjoy my co-workers at Chief. I enjoy being a part of this group very much. Good people.
